Identified ' Trojan horse 'of HIV to disable the immune system removes nanotechnology

immune cells infected by HIV extending long thin tube-like structures that release inhibitory proteins derived from viruses to neutralize the uninfected immune cells, according to a study conducted by Cornell University in New York (USA) .
The study, published in the online edition of the journal Nature Immunology, sheds light on the processes that lead to HIV disable the immune system. According to the researchers, the HIV Nef protein may block the generation of neutralizing antibodies against HIV, however, was unknown how this mechanism was developed because the cells Antibody-producing B were not infected by the virus.
image The scientists, led by Andrea Cerutti, show that Nef triggers the formation of structures resembling nano-tubules to transport the protein to other immune cells like B cells
The discovery provides an explanation of how Nef protein is released and stop the operation of B cells without being infected by the virus itself. The authors call this method of administration of immunosuppressive protein Nef the 'Trojan horse' of immune evasion.
